About Us

We here at TheReligiousLeft.Org claim as our inheritance the storied legacy of progressive religious activism in United States. The beliefs and practices developed by progressive religious activists have played an integral role in nearly every movement promoting liberty, equality, and solidarity in the history of this nation, and we hope to help maintain the fundamental bond between progressive religion and the on-going struggle for justice in the 21st century.

Our mission is two-fold. By challenging conservative voices that claim authority on matters of religion and politics, we seek to break the conservative monopoly on public discourse about religion in American society. In addition, we hope to provide progressives with a space to engage in constructive dialogue that recognizes the full complexity of our nation’s religious and political character.

Now raise your voice and join the conversation.
